Tony started working in a blacksmith shop in Missouri at the age twelve. Some 35 years later, he continues to strive for better quality and to learn more of the craft. “No man can learn all there is about blacksmithing in one lifetime” is an oft heard quote from the smith who taught Tony. He has spent his life working with his hands; for ranches as a cowboy and for many years as a professional farrier (one who shoes horses). Throughout those times he always worked as a blacksmith of one kind or another. He now lives and works in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks near the little town of Roach with his wife and 2 younger children. The shop is 150 feet from the house, which allows him to spend time every day with his family. Tony's older son is now married and proudly serves in the US Army. Tony is a long time member of ABANA (Artist Blacksmiths Association of North America) and is also a member of BAM (Blacksmiths Association of Missouri) Once asked ”Why do you love this so much,” he replied: “There's always something new to do and more to learn.” Tony has also been known to say, "I have never meet a talented blacksmith, quality work comes from practice, practice, practice...." Tony does live demonstrations at Craft fairs around home and other locations during the year. Contact us for a his schedule.
